What stays on your Mac
Everything the app makes or remembers lives on your machine, in places you can see and control:
- Recordings and photos go to folders you choose, as ordinary files. Move them, rename them, delete them — the app has no hidden copy.
- Settings (your chosen folders, sort orders, appearance) are stored in the app's macOS preferences, on this Mac.
- Sign-in credentials for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram are stored in the macOS Keychain — the same encrypted store Safari uses for your passwords. They never leave the Keychain except to talk to those services.
- Take marks and the upload queue are saved on your Mac so they survive quitting the app. Nowhere else.
What leaves your Mac, and only when you ask
The app talks to the internet in exactly one situation: when you upload or sign in. Your video, its title and description go directly from your Mac to the service you chose — YouTube (Google), Facebook or Instagram (Meta) — using your own account. Nothing passes through us on the way, because there is no "us" in the middle. Once your video is with those services, their privacy policies apply to it, the same as if you had uploaded it in a web browser.
Signing in to YouTube uses Google's device flow: the app shows a code, you approve it in your own browser, and the app never sees your password.
What we never see
We have no servers, so no data of yours can reach us. We don't know that you installed the app, what you shot, what you uploaded, or that you exist — and we like it that way. There is nothing for us to lose, leak, sell, or be subpoenaed for.
This website
This site is plain, static pages. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no forms. Your visit here is not recorded by us.
Permissions the app asks for
macOS will ask on the app's behalf for the microphone (only if you record sound, only for the length of a take) and the camera (for webcam preview). Saying no never breaks the rest of the app. These are standard macOS permissions you can change any time in System Settings.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the change and its date will be posted on this page. Since the app collects nothing, the realistic direction of change is "still nothing".
